Yangzhou prospered thanks to the Grand Canal. The students strolled along the canal, visited the parks by the canal, and learned about the canal's excavation history, the grain transport system, and the local customs along its route, experiencing firsthand the inclusive and interconnected spirit of canal culture. They also exchanged views on the water cultures of their own countries. One student said that the Chinese history they had read about in books had now become a visible and tangible reality, giving them a more well-rounded understanding of Chinese history.

This study tour used Grand Canal culture as a bond to build a bridge of communication between Chinese and international youth, allowing the students to learn about the canal's stories and appreciate Chinese cultural heritage. Going forward, the two universities will continue to hold activities featuring traditional Chinese culture and encourage international students to witness and spread cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world.
