Measures of Awarding Bachelor's Degrees for International Students in HNU

 

Article 1 The Measures are formulated for the implementation of the Regulations of the People's Republic of China in accordance with the Interim Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations of the People's Republic of China, the Administrative Measures for the Recruitment and Training of International Students, the Rules of Awarding Bachelor's Degree in Huaiyin Normal University and other relevant requirements and the actual conditions of our university.

Article 2 Those who meet the followings can apply for the award of a bachelor's degree:

 (1) Abiding by Chinese laws, regulations, school rules and disciplines, and having good conduct;

 (2) Within the period of study stipulated by the university, completing all credits stipulated in the talent training program (Chinese Language and China Overview are required credits), and obtaining the graduation certificate;

 (3) Participating in the National Chinese proficiency examination and achieving HSK4 or above;

 (4) Completing the undergraduate graduation thesis (graduation design or other graduation practice activities).

 Article 3 Those having had one of the following circumstances should not be awarded a bachelor's degree:

(1)  Violating the provisions of Item (1) of Article 2;

(2)  Being punished with probation in school or above;

(3)  Verifying the facts of academic plagiarism, fraud or other similarities;

(4)The Academic Degree Assessment Committee of the university deciding not to award a bachelor's degree for special reasons.

Article 4 Those who have been punished (under probation in school) for disciplinary violations and have any recognized outstanding performance after punishment, can apply for a bachelor's degree at graduation. After being approved by preliminary examination of the Academic Degree Evaluation Sub-committee of the schools, they can be submitted to the Academic Degree Assessment Committee for deliberation and approval.

Article 5 Those who fail to meet the requirements due to academic performance, may return to the school to take the courses or attend the examinations within the study period. If meeting the requirements of bachelor's degree, they can be awarded in accordance with the prescribed procedures.

Article 6 Working procedure for bachelor's degree: the Degree Assessment Committee of relevant schools shall review students’ moral behavior, academic performance and graduation appraisal one by one, and submit the preliminary examination list to the Degree Assessment Committee of the university. After the examination and approval, the university shall award the bachelor's degree and certificate of the corresponding disciplines

Article 7 The university Bachelor's Degree Assessment Committee shall accept the application for bachelor's degree and review the list of bachelor's degree awards in June and December of each year respectively.

Article 8 If the awarded bachelor's degree violates the provisions of the Regulations of the People's Republic of China, the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee of the university shall review it. If the case is true, the academic degree awarded shall be revoked.

Article 9 If a student has any objection to the award of a bachelor's degree, he or she may appeal to the Student Appeal Handling Committee.

Article 10 The Measures shall be implemented since the date of promulgation, and the Academic Degree Assessment Committee of the University authorizes the School of International Education to be responsible for the interpretation.
