I. University Profile

Huaiyin Normal University (HYNU) is a provincial higher education institution in Jiangsu Province, with teacher education as its core feature. Located in Huai’an, the hometown of Premier Zhou Enlai and a national historical and cultural city, the university was founded in 1958 and upgraded to a bachelor’s degree-granting institution in 1997.

HYNU comprises 19 secondary schools, with over 23,000 full-time students (including 500 master’s students) and more than 1,200 full-time faculty members. Among the faculty, nearly 200 hold senior professorships, over 680 have doctoral degrees, and more than 580 are doctoral/master’s supervisors. The university hosts 35 research platforms, including provincial-ministry co-built collaborative innovation centers, provincial key laboratories, and engineering research centers, alongside 7 provincial key disciplines and 1 academician workstation.

Committed to internationalization, HYNU has established strategic partnerships with nearly 70 universities across 15 countries (including the UK, the US, France, Finland, Italy, and Belarus), launching over 20 substantial projects such as joint undergraduate/graduate/doctoral training, international research collaboration, and student exchange programs. Since 2017, HYNU has recruited international students for degree programs. To date, more than 700 international students have studied at HYNU for degree/non-degree programs or cultural exchanges.

III. Training Mode & Duration

Full-time undergraduate program, 4-year duration；

Dual-semester system: Fall semester (September–January) & spring semester (February–June)；

Fall admission only and fall semester generally starts in September.

IV. Application Requirements

1.Non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport, abiding by Chinese laws and regulations, and respecting Chinese customs and traditions.

2.High school diploma or above with excellent academic performance.

3.English-taught programs: IELTS 5.5+, TOEFL 75+, Duolingo English Test 85+, or other valid English proficiency certificates. Applicants with full English-taught pre-university courses are exempt from the above English requirements but must provide relevant proof of English instruction. Chinese-taught programs: HSK 4 or above.

4.Aged 18–25, physically and mentally healthy, with good conduct.

V. Application Materials & Procedures

Qualified applicants must complete online application by May 30 via https://hytc.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx

2. Required Materials

(1) Application Form for International Students Admitted to Huaiyin Normal University;

(2) Electronic passport-sized photos;

(3) Scanned copy of passport bio-page;

(4) Notarized highest degree certificate;

(5) Notarized high school transcript;

(6) HSK 4+ certificate (for Chinese-taught program applicants);

(7) Medical examination certificate (valid within 6 months);

(8) Non-criminal record certificate;

(9)Financial capacity proof (valid within 6 months; one of the following: family deposit certificate, property ownership certificate, or parent/guardian income certificate).

3. Review & Admission

The School of International Education, Huaiyin Normal University is responsible for reviewing students’ application documents, and the respective school of the student’s major will arrange the interview. For students who pass the interview and pay a deposit of RMB 1,500 or 2,000 (deductible from accommodation fees) before the specified deadline, the university will issue the Admission Notice and the Visa Application Form for them coming to China (Form JW202). Students shall complete the official registration procedures on the date specified in the Admission Notice.

VI. Scholarships

1.Admitted students may apply for the Huaiyin Normal University Freshman Scholarship and qualified applicants will receive a scholarship of RMB 15,000 per academic year.

2.After enrollment, students are eligible to apply for the Outstanding International Student Scholarship, with a maximum annual award of RMB 2,000 per student.

3.Students with excellent performance who have completed at least one full year of study at the university may apply for the Jiangsu Government Scholarship.

4.Students who transfer to another institution due to personal reasons shall fully refund all scholarship funds they have received.

Notes

1.All application documents must be in English. Documents in any other language must be accompanied by a notarized English translation.

2.Applicants under the age of 18 shall, in addition to the above documents, submit the original notarized guardianship certificate of their legal guardian in China.

3.All submitted application documents are non-refundable.

4.The university reserves the right to require applicants to submit supplementary supporting documents when necessary.

VII. Fees (in RMB)

1.Application fee: RMB 200 per person

2.Tuition: RMB 15,000 per person/year

3.Textbook fee: RMB 800 per person/year

4.Accommodation fee: RMB 1,500 per person/year (double room); RMB 2,000 per person/year (single room)

5.Accommodation security deposit: RMB 400 per person (paid at registration; fully refundable upon graduation if no property damage)

6.Comprehensive medical insurance: RMB 600 per person/year (paid at registration)

7.Medical examination fee: RMB 420 per person (paid at registration)

8.Visa fee: RMB 400 per person (paid at registration)
